JAIPUR: The H3N2 virus is spreading among children in the city.

While Sawai Mansingh (SMS) Hospital is reporting nearly 400 cases daily, children are proving to be more receptible to the virus. As many as 200-170 children with H3N2 symptoms are visiting the JK Lone Hospital for H3N2 tests. Due to the lack of proper testing, the doctors are unable to determine if these children are actually infected with the virus.

The H3N2 virus is causing lung infections that are similar to those caused by COVID-19. The cough persists for over 20 days. In the last seven days, nine children have been admitted to the ICU. However, doctors have assured that the virus is not fatal.

One out of every five viral cases is linked to this disease, and there are no separate tests for this virus. Doctors are suspecting that the H3N2 virus, adenovirus, para influenza, and respiratory infections are affecting people more frequently.

On average, 2200 people are visiting hospitals, including JK Lone and SMS Hospital, Gangauri, Kanwatiya, and Jaipuria, with viral diseases.

The virus is more active and spreads faster during changes in the weather. Therefore, it is recommended to wear a mask outside the house, avoid crowded places, and refrain from consuming cold food and drink. If someone experiences fever and cough, they should see a doctor immediately and not take any medicines without a prescription.

If someone has difficulty in breathing or feels pressure in their chest, they should seek medical attention immediately and get admitted if advised by the doctor. In case of severe cough, weakness, or difficulty breathing, individuals should see a doctor and drink more liquids.
