Jaipur: As drizzle continued throughout Friday morning in Jaipur, drains are overflowing and causing accidents. Many people watched in horror a man getting swept away in a drain in Sudarshanpura Industrial Area in Kartarpura on Friday.
The man was trying to drive through the drain. As the car swept with the flow of the drain, he tried to come out of the vehicle, but it capsized. The youth got buried under the floating car. The rescue teams have recovered the car, but there is no trace of the victim. At least 10 teams of divers are looking for the victim.
According to initial reports, the youth has been identified as Ayush Kumar.
Senior district administration and police officers reached the spot to supervise the rescue operation. There were reports that a bike also got swept away at the same place, but the police didn’t confirm this.
In another incident near Jal Mahal, two children were swept away in a drain. A bus driver who was waiting for the water to subside saw the two children drowning. He saved one of them, but the other got swept away.
Police are trying to identify the children.
Rescue teams have launched a search for the missing child. He is said to be 10 years old.
