Car falls into gorge en route from Kedarnath to Badrinath; 11 from Rajasthan injured

All 11 passengers who sustained injuries were rescued and transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention.

JAIPUR: Eleven people were injured when a car carrying pilgrims from Rajasthan met with an accident and fell into a gorge in Uttarakhand during early hours of Thursday. The vehicle was en route from Kedarnath to Badrinath when the mishap occurred.

All passengers who sustained injuries were rescued and transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention.

The accident occurred along Mandal Gopeshwar Road. The group of 11 pilgrims from Rajasthan were on their way to Badrinath from Kedarnath when their car lost control and plunged into a ditch near Mandal during the morning hours of Thursday.

Upon receiving information about the incident, the local police from Gopeshwar arrived at the site. The rescuers managed to pull out all 11 pilgrims from the wreckage.

Rajendra Singh Rautela, the Station House Officer (SHO), confirmed that all the injured persons had been safely rescued. The pilgrims were immediately provided with essential first aid before being transported to a nearby hospital for further medical care.

The authorities are currently investigating the cause of the accident.
