Jaipur: Panic prevailed at the Rajasthan High Court, Jaipur Bench on Friday morning after a fresh bomb threat was reported, prompting authorities to evacuate the entire court premises as a precautionary measure.
Following the alert, police and security agencies swung into action. Ongoing court proceedings were immediately halted, and judges, lawyers, court staff, and litigants were safely moved out of the buildings. Bomb disposal squads and security teams carried out an intensive search across courtrooms, corridors, chambers, parking areas, and administrative sections.
According to official sources, the High Court Registrar received a threatening email early in the morning claiming that three RDX bombs had been planted at the Rajasthan High Court premises in both Jaipur and Jodhpur. Following the alert, High Court authorities immediately informed the police and ordered the evacuation of court buildings at both locations as a precautionary measure.
Meanwhile, a similar threat was reported at the newly constructed district sessions court building in Ajmer. In a separate email sent to the district collector, the sender claimed that 13 RDX bombs had been planted at the court premises. Acting swiftly, police and intelligence agencies evacuated the building and launched an extensive search operation. As with the High Court locations, no suspicious material was recovered.
This is not the first time the High Court has faced such a situation in recent months. In December 2025, the Jaipur Bench received multiple bomb threats through emails, leading to repeated evacuations and large-scale security operations.
In one such incident in early December, the court was evacuated for the second consecutive day after an email warned of a bomb blast. It was later confirmed by police that the threat was a hoax. Authorities revealed that at least four bomb threats had been sent to the High Court within a span of about 40 days, including on October 31 and December 5, 8, and 9.
Additional senior police officials had then stated that the threats appeared to be aimed at creating panic, as no suspicious objects were ever recovered during the searches.
The repeated disruptions had drawn concern from members of the legal fraternity, who pointed out that such threats severely affect judicial functioning and delay hearings in an already burdened court system.
Police sources said efforts are ongoing to trace those behind the threat messages using technical surveillance. Meanwhile, security measures at the High Court have been strengthened, including stricter entry checks and enhanced monitoring.
The latest incident once again raises serious concerns over the safety of sensitive judicial institutions in Jaipur, which witness heavy public movement on a daily basis.
Authorities have urged the public to remain calm and avoid spreading rumors while investigations continue.
