Bomb hoax in Jaishree Periwal creates panic, email claims bombs to go off by noon
Jaipur: An email received from overseas created panic in a private school near Chitrakoot Stadium in Vaishali Nagar area on Tuesday.
The email stated that three bombs will go off in the Jayshree Periwal High School by noon. The school administration informed the police following which senior police officers rushed there. Police force was deployed and bomb disposal and dog squads were roped in. Police however said that it was a hoax. The entire school was vacated and searched. No bomb was found on the premises.
According to the police sources, the email was received on the school’s official email ID in the week hours and come to light around 7 am. Preliminary investigation suggests that the email was sent from Switzerland. The police however said that the culprits might have routed the email to misguide the investigators about the IP address. Further investigation is going on in the matter.
The email claimed that three bombs will go off one by one by the noon.
After getting information from the local police, a team of anti-terrorist squad (ATS) also arrived at the school and sealed the premises. Fire tenders were also rushed to the spot.
A senior police officer said that more than 60 classrooms and other parts of the schools were searched.
The children were made to gather on the school’s ground.
As the parents of the children heard of the panic, they rushed to the school and gathered outside.
All the children were safe, police said. The school had been vacated and each and every corner was searched for any suspicious object.
Police said that an FIR would be lodged and the culprits would be brought to the book.
The police didn’t rule out the possibility that some former student of the school may have played a prank.
