“We have found the body. It got stuck in bushes after the water took it 25 km from the spot the spot he was swept away,” said a police officer.

Heavy rains in Banswara have increased the water current in the rivers.

The rescue operation had been launched immediately after the incident was reported on Friday. As soon as it was resumed on Sunday, his body was spotted by some villagers who informed the police and district administration.

SDM Meena’s watch was on Saturday found nearly 5 kilometers from the bridge where he and his driver got stuck and then swept away. Nearly 64 personal of NDRF and SDRF have been searching him in the river for the past 48 hours. They are being assisted in the search operation by the locals also, but their efforts have proved fruitless.

The family members including SDM Meena’s son Sandeep Meena met Banswara district collector and alleged that anything could happen to him in Kushalgarh. They alleged that Meena was a honest and strict officer and he had become a threat to some dishonest people.

They demanded a CBI probe into the matter. Sandeep said that if their demand was not met, he would organize a sit-in in front of Rajasthan assembly building.

The incident took place around 7.45 am on Friday when Meena was travelling to Kushalgarh from Banswara town in his official vehicle, a Bollero.
