Blue Whale Challenge: Jodhpur girl attempts suicide twice in 24 hours

The girl who jumped off a cliff on Monday consumes sleeping pills.

Jaipur: A girl student of class 10 attempted suicide again within 24 hours of jumping off a cliff near Mandore in Jodhpur to complete the last stage of deadly ‘Blue Whale’ challenge. The girl consumed sleeping pills. She was admitted to the ICU of a hospital in Jodhpur where her condition is stated to be stable, but critical.

The girl was consumed by the online game to such an extent that she feared if she didn’t complete the challenges, her mother would die. She pleaded to the doctors not to stop her because the life of her mother was in danger. Doctors said that she was being provided physiological counselling.

On Monday night, the girl who – is a resident of Mandore area in Jodhpur and the daughter of BSF jawan, left her home on a scooty and reached nearby Kalyan – Sidhhanath hills. In order to complete the last challenge, she jumped off the hills, but fell into a lake. Some pilgrims, including Omprakash and Vikram Singh, who were visiting a nearby temple saw the girl and rescued her. She was handed over to the family members.

But within 24 hours, the girl attempted suicide again, this time by taking sleeping pills.

“Please let me die. My mother will die if I don’t,” she kept repeating hysterically.

According to the doctors of the hospital, she was out of danger but has been kept in ICU for profound examination of her vital organs.

“Her family members took her to hospital immediately. We admitted her to the ICU and provided the required treatment. She is out of danger but we have decided to keep her at the ICU to ensure that her vital organs are unaffected and are functioning properly”, said doctor K R Daukiya.

According to doctors, she is still under the influence of the game and in a state of depression for having failed twice in completing the task.
