BJP releases second list of candidates for Rajasthan elections

While the Congress is yet to come out with its first list, the BJP’s promptness has made the candidates and workers happy. Though dissidence among some senior leaders is not being ruled out as the second list didn’t have the names of many sitting MLAs.

Jaipur: The BJP has released the second list of candidates for the Rajasthan assembly elections 2018. The names of 31 more candidates who will contest the elections on BJP tickets were released on Wednesday evening.

The party had earlier released the names of 131 candidates.

Some sitting MLAs, prominent leaders and ministers who didn’t get tickets include Babulal Varma (Kaishavraipatan), Rajkumar Rinwa (Ratangarh), Dhan Singh Rawat (Banswara), Jeetmal Khant (Gadhi), Gyandev Ahuja (Ramgarh), Laxminarayan Bairwa (Chaksu), Rajkumari (Hindaun), Mangla Ram (Kathumar), Rani Silotia (Baseri), Chhotu Singh Bhati (Jaisalmer), Shaitan Singh (Pokhran), Shimla Bawari (Anupgarh) and Krisha Kadawa (Sangaria).

The core group committee of the BJP had conducted a meeting in Delhi to discuss the panel of candidates for the party’s second list.

The meeting was held at Prakash Javadekar’s residence in Delhi. Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje reached Delhi on Wednesday morning to attend the meeting. Several ministers were present in the meeting to decide the names of the rest of the 69 candidates. The leaders also met BJP national president Amit Shah.
