Bikaner land scam: Vadra appears before ED with mother

Robert vadra along with mother and wife reached at ED office in Jaipur.

Jaipur: Robert Vadra- the brother-in-law of Congress national president Rahul Gandhi – along with his wife Priyanka Gandhi and mother Maureen Vadra reached Enforcement Directorate (ED) office in Jaipur at 10:30 am on Tuesday. Vadra and his mother are appearing before the agency in connection with Bikaner land case probe.

The mother-son duo arrived in Jaipur on Monday noon and AICC general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Priyanka Gandhi reached Jaipur to accompany her family after taking out a massive rally in Lucknow with brother Rahul Gandhi on Monday.

In an interview to a news channel, Vadra alleged that the BJP government was harassing him and her mother in the name of a bogus case. “She has lost three members of our family and she is old, but despite that she is being harassed by the government,” said Vadra.

He raised a question mark over the interrogation taking place when the general elections are round the corner.

Robert Vadra posted a long message in regard to the case and his mother’s health on Facebook before appearing in front of the probe agency on Tuesday.

According to the sources, Robert Vadra will have to answer 55 questions being drafted by the ED during the questioning.

Robert Vadra was questioned at Delhi over the past three days in another money laundering case pertaining to buying a property worth Rs 17 crore in the UK.

In 2015, tehsildar of Bikaner registered a complaint about alleged forgery in the allotment of land in the area that borders Pakistan. FIRs were registered with the Rajasthan police.

As per the sources, the ED wants to question Vadra about the operations of a firm — Skylight Hospitality Private Limited — allegedly linked to him, which had purchased land in the area.

Vadra has denied his involvement.
