Bikaner: 4 family members waiting for bus on roadside mowed down by speeding car

Jaipur: Four people including two children who were waiting for a bus on the roadside were killed when an overspeeding car mowed them down on Jaipur-Bikaner National Highway in Bikaner district on Sunday. The accident created panic in the area. The bodies have been put in the mortuary of a government hospital for postmortem examination.
The incident took place around 4 pm near Lakhasar village in Sri Dungargarh police station area. Some people were waiting for a bus on the roadside. In an attempt to avoid collision with a bike, the car lost balance and mowed down the four people, believed to be members of the same family. The victims included a woman, an elderly man and two girls.
They were identified as Udaram Meghwal, his daughter Rukhma Devi, Harishita and Anjani. The two girls were daughters of Rukhma Devi. She was going to her in-laws house and Udaram was accompanying them.
A huge crowd of local residents gathered on the spot. A police team from Sri Dungargarh police station rushed to the spot. The car driver and the bike rider were also injured in the mishap. They were admitted to a local hospital for treatment. The police have launched an investigation.
