Bhilwara: Man shot as criminals open firing at Dheeraj Gurjar’s brother in broad daylight

Jaipur: Some unidentified men opened fire at Neeraj Gurjar, brother of MLA Dheeraj Gurjar in Bhilwara on Sunday. A rickshaw driver was accidentally hit by a bullet in the firing while Neeraj had a narrow escape. Police are searching for the accused.

According to the police, Neeraj was passing through a market in his car. Some unidentified men rammed their car into Neeraj’s vehicle. The men then opened firing at Neeraj’s car. Some bullets hit its tiers following which the vehicle went out of control and collided with another vehicle.

Miscreants continued to fire at the car. Neeraj somehow managed to save himself by hiding in the car. Meanwhile, a rickshaw driver accidentally sustained a bullet injury.

The attackers did not stop and continued to fire even after the rickshaw driver was shot and fell down. Neeraj escaped from the car and entered the house of Kalulaal Gurjar, located nearby.

The accused managed to flee from the spot after the incident. The 40-year-old rickshaw driver Bhairu was rushed to the hospital. He sustained bullet injuries on his legs. The man is undergoing treatment.

According to the police, the attacker fired seven rounds. Police are looking at the possibility of an old animosity behind the murder attempt. An FIR has been lodged and further investigation is going on.
