Bharatpur MBBS student accuses professor of sexual harassment

Jaipur: A MBBS girl student of Bharatpur Medical College accused an assistant professor of attempting sexual harassment at his office in the college on Thursday. This is for the first time such allegations have been made against a professor of Bharatpur Medical College. The accused professor, however, claimed that the allegations were bogus.

The student alleged that the professor called her to his office and tried to sexually harass her. She was forced to run away from the office.

The girl is a first-year MBBS at Bharatpur Medical College.

The college administration has entrusted the investigation to a 7-member committee formed to probe incidents of sexual harassment. The committee will record the statements of the girl as well as the professor and will submit a report.

Meena’s wife Dr. Kavita Yadav is also an assistant professor in the same college. She alleged that the girl is very mischievous and making false allegations.

After getting the information about the incident, several MBBS students staged a protest against the college administration following which a police team reached the college to launch a probe.

Bharatpur medical college Principal Dr. Ajay Kukreja reportedly told the police officials that it was an internal matter and the college committee was look into the allegations. He said that an appropriate action after the committee submits its report.
