Bharatpur: 2 arrested in historysheeter murder case

Jaipur: A day after Vijaypal Singh – a known criminal and history sheeter of Jaipur rural area was shot dead in Nadbai area of Bharatpur district, the police have arrested two men in connection with the crime. The police officials said that Vijaypal Singh and those arrested had an old rivalry. The tension between the two groups escalated when Vijaypal Singh tried to field a candidate in the panchayat elections.
According to Haidar Ali Zaidi, SP Bharatpur, Vijaypal Singh was buying sweets from a shop near Nadbai police station when he was shot at in broad daylight. He was rushed to a hospital but died of gunshot wounds on the way.
The police launched a massive search for the criminals. Sources said a Haryana-based sharp shooter and a local criminal have been arrested for the murder. The police officials said that Vijaypal Singh was in Nadbai to field a candidate in the upcoming panchayat elections. He was murdered a day before the nominations.
Vijaypal has several cases registered against him with Shiprapath police station and was behind bars. He was released on bail recently.
The police officials said that some police constable played a major role in the arrest of the murderers. They will be awarded for the bravery.
