Jaipur: Benami Property Unit (BPU) of the state’s Income Tax Department seized 149 plots in Jodhpur worth Rs 15 crore on Monday.  The plots were brought in the name of Ramjiyavan – a resident of Delhi who is said to be an employee of a builder’s relative. Investigations revealed that payment was done by a builder Dilip Singhvi of Jodhpur and he is the real owner of the land.

According to the officials, the attached land is spread over an area of 10 acres. Ramjiyavan bought this land between October 2012 and November 2013. He paid Rs 1.64 crore, of which 1.45 was paid in cash and the rest of the amount was paid through cheques. Also, he paid the registry amount of Rs 13.37 lakh in cash.

Officials added that Ramjiyavan is not financially able to pay this much amount of cash and he also did not file any tax return.

It was revealed in the investigation that a builder Dilip Singhvi, a resident of Shastri Nagar in Jodhpur is the real owner of the land. He brought the land on behalf of Ramjiyavan.

An application to Jodhpur Development Authority (JDA) was also sent in regard to the development of land into plots in 2016 from the name of Ramjiyavan and Jagdish Panwar.

Singhvi also opened a bank account in the name of Ramjiyavan at Jodhpur. The money from the plots deal was withdrawn by Singhvi’s relatives in 2018.
