Jaipur: The BCCI has given its nod to the new constitution of Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA). Once the RCA submits the copy of the registered constitution to the BCCI, the ban on the state cricket body will come to an end, according to RCA president CP Joshi.

The ban on the RCA was imposed by the BCCI in 2014. The RCA has been trying to get the ban lifted for the past five years. When CP Joshi was elected the president of RCA, he said that his first priority would be to get the ban lifted.

In a press conference on Saturday, CP Joshi told media persons that the BCCI has given recognition to the RCA.

“The RCA elections are to be conducted before September 28. When we approached the BCCI requesting it to lift the ban, they imposed some conditions. We had to dissolve Nagaur, Sriganganagar and Alwar district associations to meet these conditions,” said CP Joshi.

He added that the RCA constitution was amended as per the Supreme Court orders.

“There were allegations of corruption, but we didn’t receive a single penny from BCCI. I had made two promises when I was elected the RCA president – one was to organize IPL matches and the other was to get the ban lifted. I have fulfilled both the promises. I have done my job. The election schedule will be released soon. The RCA will now be able to participate in the BCCI elections. It’s a big achievement for us,” said CP Joshi.

The RCA was not getting any financial assistance from the BCCI due to the ban.
