Gurjar delegation holding talks with Rajasthan ministers on Thursday

Jaipur: Colonel Kirori Singh Bainsla has reportedly expelled Himmat Singh Gurjar and two other community leaders – Deewan Singh and Sriram Bainsla from Gurjar Aarakshan Sangharsh Samiti for holding talks with the state government over the community’s demand for reservation in government jobs.

A delegation of three Gurjar leaders had come to Jaipur on Wednesday and held talks with the Rajasthan government’s cabinet ministers. The section of the Samiti led by Colonel Kirori Singh Bainsla alleged that the delegation had not been authorized to represent the community on Wednesday.

The reports about expelling the three leaders came in shortly before the delegation was to hold talks with cabinet minister Arun Chaturvedi on Thursday.

On Wednesday, the delegation held a meeting with three Rajasthan government ministers – Rajendra Singh Rathore, Arun Chaturvedi and Hem Singh Bhadana. IAS and IPS officers including JC Mohanty, Samit Sharma and ADG Pankaj Kumar Singh were also present in the meeting held at the state secretariat.

The ministers later apprised chief ministers Vasundhara Raje of the meeting’s outcomes.

The Gurjar community delegation was to hold a meeting with Arun Chaturvedi at the latter’s residence on Thursday, but the reports came in that Himmat Singh Gurjar, Deewan Singh and Sri Ram Bainsala had been expelled. Arun Chaturvedi didn’t turn up for the meeting.

Sources said Kirori Singh Bainsla met people of the community on Thursday and informed them that he had not appointed Himmat and two others for holding talks with the state government over the reservation issue. It was later decided that the trio should be expelled from Sangharsh Samiti.
