Badi Chaupad Jaipur Metro flagged off by CM Gehlot; Walled City now connected with Mansarovar

Jaipur: After a wait of more than 7 years, the people will be able to travel to the crowded Badi Chaupar area of the Walled City in the airconditioned Jaipur Metro. The Metro was flagged off at Badi Chaupar by chief minister Ashok Gehlot on Wednesday. The Metro journey began from Badi Choupad to Mansarovar.
Senior leaders including transport minister Pratap Singh Khachariawas, Metro CMD Bhaskar A Sawant, chief whipe Bhaskar A Sawant and several senior officials were present on the occasion.
Chief minister Gehlot that the day would be remembered forever. It was a big achievement to complete the Jaipur Metro work in such a crowded and congested area. No untoward incident was reported.
CM Gehlot said that the second phase in which Jaipur Metro work will begin for the 22-km stretch between Ambabadi and Sitapura. This will connect Jaipur airport with the Metro. Many other parts of Mansarovar will also be connected with the Metro. He said that this was the government’s priority, but it is getting delayed due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation.
“Not only Jaipur residents, hundreds of thousands of tourists who visit Jaipur will also benefit from the Jaipur Metro connectivity,” said Gehlot.
