ATS arrests Udaipur-based Hotelier in arms license case

Jaipur: Rajasthan anti-terrorist squad (ATS) has arrested a hotelier of Udaipur in connection with a case of preparing arms license from Jammu and Kashmir on the basis of fake documents. The accused Ajmal Khan, 47, is a resident of Ambamata area of Udaipur. The police have allegedly recovered an arms license and a pistol from him.
ATS SP Vikas Kumar told that last month Ajmer’s Mohammad Zubair and Jammu’s Rahul and Vishal, were arrested and they had disclosed that they were selling arms licenses. These licenses were prepared in Jammu and Kashmir on the basis of fraudulent documents. Ajmal Khan allegedly bought an arms license from these men for Rs 2.5 lakh.
The ATS has arrested more than 20 people who were either part of the gang or paid money to buy these fake arms licenses. The ATS is yet to take action against the officers of Jammu and Kashmir. Sources said that the lack of co-operation from the officials in the Jammu and Kashmir has halted the investigation in this direction.
