Associate professor, PA to exam controller arrested in Rajasthan University paper leak case

17 people arrested so far in the case.

Jaipur: Special operations group (SOG) on Friday nabbed two more people in connection with Rajasthan University (RU) paper leak case. Those arrested are Rajeev Sharma, an associate professor in Rajasthan University’s Commerce Department and Surendra Mohan Sharma, the personal assistant (PA) to the RU’s exam controller. A total of 17 people have been nabbed in the case so far with the fresh arrests on Friday.

ADG, SOG Umesh Mishra said Nandlal Saini, an employee in the university’s secrecy branch who has already been arrested, disclosed the name of professors who set BCom papers to Surendra Mohan Sharma.

“The names of the paper setters can not be revealed. It has to be kept secret, but after getting the names from Saini, Surendra revealed the names to associate professor Rajeev Sharma. Sharma then contacted the paper setters asking them to tell him the questions which will appear in the exam,” said ADG Mishra.

The officer said that the associate professor was trying to get the paper for his close relatives.

The SOG on Wednesday had arrested Maheshchand Gupta, another associate professor with Rajasthan University’s commerce department.

Those arrested so far in the matter include Rajasthan University’s geography department head (HoD) JP Jat, Commerce College professor Govind Pareek,   Retired RU professor BL Gupta,    Government College Khajuvala professor NS Modi, Modi’s son Nipun Modi, SSG Pareek Girls College Chomu’s Shambhudayal Jhalani, Kalicharan Sharma from Agrsen College Bhadara and one Sharad who is an employee of Ramesh Book Depot.
