Jaipur: The oath ceremony of newly appointed chief minister of Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot and Deputy CM Sachin Pilot will be held in front of Albert Hall on December 17. Earlier it was planned at ‘Amrudon Ka Bagh’ near state assembly building. A team of officials visited Albert Hall and Ramniwas Bagh for an inspection.

The decision to hold the oath taking ceremony at Albert Hall was taken after the Rajasthan high court turned down the request for the same on Jan Path. The court had suggested that the ceremony could be held at Amrudon Ka Bagh.

The oath ceremony usually takes place at either Raj Bhavan or Jan Path in Jaipur.

The Congress leaders had requested the court to allow the oath ceremony at Janpath outside assembly building.

The bench of Justice MM Bhandari heard the application seeking permission for the same on Saturday. HC turned down the request and said that the ceremony couldn’t be held on Jan Path, but gave the permission for Amrudon ka Bagh.

A stage will be set up at Albert hall where the ceremony will take place from 10 am on Monday.

Senior Congress leaders including Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, Arvind Kejriwal, Mamta Banerjee, Mayawati, Sharad Yadav, Akhilesh Yadav, Farooq Abdullah, Sharad Pawar, Praful Patel, Tejaswi Yadav and Manmohan Singh will attend the event.
