Jaipur: The city is all set to witness a historic moment as the city prepares to host the Army Day Parade for the first time on January 15. The grand event will be held on Mahal Road in Jagatpura, and is expected to draw large crowds eager to see the Indian Army’s strength up close.
The main parade will take place from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm, covering a nearly three-kilometre stretch of Mahal Road. Around 15,000 soldiers from various Army units will take part in the march, making it one of the biggest defence events ever organised in Jaipur.
What Will Be on Display?
Visitors can expect far more than just marching contingents. The parade will feature tanks, advanced missile systems and modern military equipment, along with demonstrations involving robotic systems, including robotic dogs. Adding to the spectacle, fighter aircraft and helicopters will perform fly-pasts over the parade route.
Officials say the event will be organised on the lines of major national parades, similar in scale to the Republic Day parade held annually in New Delhi.
Events Across the City Before Army Day
The celebrations won’t be limited to just one day. From January 5 to January 15, Jaipur will host several Army-related programmes at different locations. At Bhawani Niketan Ground, the public will be able to visit exhibitions showcasing the Army’s latest weapons, technology and defence capabilities.
Cultural programmes and Army band performances are also planned during this period. In the evenings, residents can attend light-and-sound shows at venues such as SMS Stadium, highlighting Army operations and key achievements.
Important Restrictions for the Public
To ensure safety during aerial rehearsals and the main event, the administration has announced strict restrictions in areas around the parade venue. Fireworks and kite flying will be completely banned within a five-kilometre radius of Mahal Road between January 5 and January 15.
On select dates, kite flying will also be restricted during specific morning and afternoon hours to allow smooth conduct of fly-past practice sessions.
Who Will Attend?
Senior military officials and state leaders are expected at the parade. The Chief Minister will be present during the main ceremony on January 15.
With elaborate preparations underway, the Army Day Parade is set to be a memorable event for Jaipur residents—offering a rare opportunity to witness the Indian Army’s power, discipline and technology from close quarters.
