Dinesh MN is a 1985-batch IPS officer. During his tenure  as SP, Karauli, he gained fame by fearlessly taking on dreaded dacoits and criminals of the area. By the time, he was deputed in Udaipur, a network of organized gangs had spread its tentacle in the region. Dinesh MN is credited with restoring law and order in Udaipur by destroying these gangs in their infancy.

After Anandpal fled from custody, Dinesh MN was transferred to SOG. It was believed that he was transferred to catch the notorious criminal, but there were rumors that he was removed from ACB under pressure from the IAS lobby in Rajasthan.

The operation to catch Anandpal was hitting a blank wall until two months ago when the police came to know that the notorious criminal and his two brothers were hiding in Haryana and Churu. An SOG team had been camping in Haryana for two months. The patience and intelligence gathering finally yielded results when his two brothers were held in Sirsa around 6 pm on Saturday. From the two brothers who also carried a cash reward of Rs 1 lakh each allegedly revealed Anandpal’s location to the cops. A team then killed Anandpal in an encounter in Malasar village of Churu district around 11.25 pm on Saturday.
