Jaipur: Emergency medical services in Rajasthan received temporary relief after the proposed strike by 108 and 104 ambulance staff was put on hold till December 31. The decision ensures uninterrupted ambulance operations across the state for the coming days, amid ongoing discussions over a fresh tender process.

The strike, which was scheduled to begin from midnight on Sunday, was deferred following developments related to the National Health Mission’s tender for 104 ambulance services. The Rajasthan Ambulance Employees Union said a clarification document linked to the tender has now been issued, prompting the union to pause its protest.

Union president Virendra Singh said that the revised communication from the National Health Mission indicates that presentations by participating companies will take place on December 31. A final decision on the future course of action will be taken after this process is completed.

Considering the current situation, the union decided to suspend the strike until the end of the month. As a result, all 108 and 104 ambulance services will continue to operate normally across Rajasthan, ensuring that emergency response systems remain functional.

The ambulance staff had earlier raised concerns over working conditions and terms proposed in the new tender. With negotiations still underway, both employees and authorities are now expected to reassess the situation after the tender presentations.

For now, health officials confirmed that ambulance services across the state will remain fully operational, avoiding disruption to patients who rely on these free emergency facilities.
