Alwar: Sub-inspector arrested for raping 26-year-old woman

Jaipur: A sub-inspector posted at an Alwar police station was arrested on Monday for allegedly raping a 26-year-old woman.
Bharat Singh (54), posted at Kherli police station was arrested under Section 376 (rape) of the IPC on Sunday evening after senior official reached the police station to complete preliminary investigation.
The woman alleged in her complaint that she had gone to the police station to file a complaint against her husband on March 2. There, she met sub-inspector Singh who assured help to her and led her into his residential quarter located within the police station under the guise of counselling and raped her.
According to her, the ordeal did not end there as Singh allegedly again rang her up on Wednesday and Thursday and sexually assaulted her.
The tainted cop was arrested by the police while the complainant was taken to the hospital for the requisite medical examination. The senior officials said they are carrying out an impartial probe into the matter and promised that the accused’s service with the state police will have no bearing in the investigation.
Alwar district has long been notorious for its rising crime graph, due to a separate police district, Bhiwadi had to carved out for better control of crime.
