Jaipur: The Alwar police have arrested a notorious criminal identified as Suresh Gurjar who carried a cash reward of Rs 40,000 on his head. The cops were trying to trace him for a long time. He was finally arrested in a joint operation of Bharatpur and Alwar police. Suresh created sensation several times in the past by sharing his photos on social media flaunting automated guns.
“He had over 40 police cases registered against him in Bharatpur, Alwar and several other districts of the state. He had been involved in several cases of firing on the police. We had been trying to arrest him for a long time,” said a senior Alwar police officer.
Suresh is a resident of a village in Bharatpur’s Nagar area. “We got a tip-off about this presence in Bharatpur following which a team of policemen from several Bharatpur police stations was put together quickly. He was arrested and handed over to Alwar police,” said a police officer in Bharatpur.
Alwar police will interrogate him, the officials said. Police heaved a sigh of relief after Suresh’s arrest as he was notorious for attacking the cops whenever he was chased.
“He had been involved in several cases of extortion. He will be produced in a court on Friday and we will seek his remand,” said the officer.
