Jaipur: Senior Congress leader and former president of Ajmer Bar Association Rajesh Tondon has been accused of making derogatory remarks against some lady IAS officers. Without taking their name, Tondon allegedly referred to a video clip and then advised male administrative officials to steer clear of these women officers. Four of these officers posted in Ajmer have registered FIRs against Tondon with Kotwali and Civil Lines police stations. Police officials said that an investigation has been launched in the matter.
The women IAS officers alleged that Tondon had posted on social media and his blog some derogatory remarks against an IAS officer and mentioned a video clip that had gone viral. Tondon however didn’t identify the lady officer.
The four women IAS officers met SP Ajmer Kunwar Rashtradeep and registered three FIRs with Kotwali and Civil Lines police stations against Tondon. The investigation has been handed over to deputy SP Priyanka Raghuvanshi.
RAS Association condemned the remarks made by Tondon.
In a release, the association general secretary said that they condemn the derogatory and disrespectful posts against the lady IAS officers posted in Ajmer.
“Our ethos and values have taught us to respect women and this kind of shameful and pathetic comments are a disgrace to our society. We extend our full support to the lady officers against such cowardly and deplorable act. The association demands strictest action in the matter,” said the general secretary.
