Jaipur/Jodhpur: The Rajasthan High Court at Jodhpur has placed eight judicial officers on “Awaiting Posting Order (APO)” with immediate effect. The order was issued by Registrar General Chanchal Mishra.

According to the official order, several officers holding key positions in the Jodhpur Metropolitan and District Courts have been relieved from their present assignments and directed to await further posting orders at the High Court headquarters or at the office of the District and Sessions Judge, Jodhpur.

The administrative action comes in the backdrop of a bomb threat received at the Jodhpur principal seat of the Rajasthan High Court. Following the threat, security agencies evacuated the court premises and launched an intensive search operation. Court proceedings were temporarily affected and resumed at 11:30 am after security clearance.

During this period, Acting Chief Justice Sanjeev Prakash Sharma visited the heritage court building complex and conducted a surprise inspection of subordinate courts. During the inspection, several courtrooms were reportedly found vacant and some judicial officers were found absent. It is being stated that the High Court administration viewed the matter seriously and initiated immediate administrative action.

As per the order, Ajay Sharma, District and Sessions Judge, Jodhpur Metropolitan, has been placed on APO at the Rajasthan High Court, Jodhpur headquarters.

Manisha Choudhary, who was serving as Judge of the Special POCSO Act Court No. 1, Jodhpur Metropolitan, has been placed on APO at the office of the District and Sessions Judge, Jodhpur District.

In addition, Manisha Sharma, Additional District and Sessions Judge No. 2, Jodhpur Metropolitan; Neha Sharma, Additional District and Sessions Judge, Jodhpur District; Karuna Sharma, Senior Civil Judge-cum-Chief Judicial Magistrate, Jodhpur District; Praveen Choudhary, Additional Senior Civil Judge-cum-Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate No. 2, Jodhpur Metropolitan; Seema Sandu, Additional Senior Civil Judge-cum-Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate No. 9, Jodhpur Metropolitan; and Manoj Jingar, Additional Senior Civil Judge-cum-Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate No. 7, Jodhpur Metropolitan, have also been placed on APO at the District and Sessions Judge, Jodhpur District headquarters.

From an administrative perspective, APO is described as a routine service matter pending fresh postings. However, the simultaneous placement of multiple officers in one order has drawn attention within legal circles and is being viewed as a notable administrative step by the High Court.
