Accused of raping a minor, Delhi man commits suicide in Jaipur

A 48-year-old tuition teacher identified as Anil Panwar committed suicide by jumping in front of a moving train near Kho Nagoriyan CBI crossing in Jaipur on Friday.

Jaipur:  A 48-year-old tuition teacher identified as Anil Panwar committed suicide by jumping in front of a moving train near Kho Nagoriyan CBI crossing in Jaipur on Friday. As revealed in the preliminary investigation, he was accused of raping a 15-year-old girl student.

The police team rushed to the spot and informed his family members Police kept the body in the JNU’s mortuary. They handed over the body to the relatives after the post mortem examination.

The deceased man Anil Panwar (48) was a resident of Shalimar Bagh in New Delhi. He was living with his wife and children in Jaipur and was a tuition teacher.

According to SHO Virendra Singh, the deceased Panwar was accused of raping a 15-year-old student.

Panwar had been accused of taking the girl to a hotel room by manipulating her and allegedly raped her. The family members of the victim lodged an FIR against him in December 2018.

Police suspect that Panwar was depressed over this matter and hence he committed suicide.

The reason for his suicide is not clear yet, as no suicide note has been recovered.

Police are recording the statement of his family members and relatives. Further investigation of the case is going on.
