ACB trap in Sikar: Railway senior section engineer arrested for taking bribe

Jaipur: Rajasthan anti-corruption bureau (ACB) on Saturday arrested railway senior section engineer posted in Sikar after he was allegedly caught red-handed taking a bribe of Rs 2,000 from a subordinate employee. The officer, Jitendra Kumar Oswal, was demanding bribe from a trackman – one Bhanwarlal for approving his travel bills, ACB officials said. The officer has been booked under various section of the Prevention of Corruption Act. He will be produced in a court.

Jitendra Kumar who hails from Srimadhopur town of Sikar district was posted in Palsana area of Sikar district.

“Trackman Bhanwarlal who belongs to Khandela area of Sikar approached Jitendra Kumar to approve his travel bills. The trackman has to travel along the tracks as part of his job and the section engineer approves the travel bills as per the rules. The officer demanded Rs 2000 per month. The trackman lodged a complaint with ACB following which a trap was laid. Jitendra Kumar was caught red-handed accepting Rs 2000. He was booked and arrested,” said a senior ACB officer.

The trap was organized by a team led by DSP ACB Sikar Jaquir Akhtar.
