ACB trap in Bharatpur: District Transport Officer (DTO), 2 others arrested for taking bribe

JAIPUR: Rajasthan anti-corruption bureau (ACB) on Friday arrested Bharatpur District Transport Officer (DTO) Dilip Tiwari, assistant administrative officer of Regional Transport Office Anil Kumar Sharma and their middleman Kapil Sharma after they were allegedly caught taking a bribe of Rs 37,200.
The trio was booked under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act. DTO had demanded the bribe to approve the registration of new vehicles being undertaken by the firm of the ACB complainant.
DG ACB BL Soni said that the complainant had approached the agency and lodged a complaint against DTO Dilip Tiwari and AAO Anil Kumar Sharma. He stated in the complaint that Dilip and Anil were asking him to give the bribe money to Kapil Sharma.
The complaint was verified under the supervision of DIG, ACB Jaipur Dr Vishnukant. A unit of ACB Dausa laid the trap under the directions of add SP Mahendra Kumar Sharma when the complaint was genuine.
Middleman, Kapil Sharma, was caught red-handed accepting the bribe on behalf of DTO Dilip and AAO Anil Kumar. The trio was taken into custody.
“Searches are being carried out at residence, office and other places belonging to the three men. Further investigation is going on,” said Soni.
