ACB trap at Jaipur Collectorate office; tehsildar’s reader arrested

Jaipur: The Jaipur team of Rajasthan Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested Vikram Kumar- Reader of Tehsildaar Gajendra Kumar- after he was allegedly caught taking a bribe of Rs 5000 in district collectorate on Tuesday.

Vikram’s aide and the driver of Tehsildar Ashok was also allegedly involved in the case but he managed to flee from the spot. They demanded a bribe for getting a license issued by the tehsildar.

The ACB team is now carrying out searches in the house of Vikram Kumar.. The investigation is being  conducted under the supervision of ACB Add SP Alok Singhal.

According to the officials, the ACB received a complaint that the reader was asking for Rs 5000 get a license issued by the Tehsildar office. The reader allegedly agreed to accept Rs 4000. The tehsildar’s driver was also allegedly involved.

When the complaint was found genuine, a Jaipur ACB team laid a trap. Vikram was caught red-handed accepting the bribe at the collectorate office in Jaipur, while Ashok managed to flee from the spot. Police are searching for Ashok, said ACB officer.

The ACB has booked Vikram Kumar under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act and will produce him in a court.

The ACB team is also quizzing Tehsildaar Gajendra Kumar.

The identity of the complainant has not been revealed.

Further investigation is going on.
