Ratan Lahoti, a promotee IAS officer, is currently deputed as Jodhpur divisional commissioner.
Jaipur: Anti-corruption bureau (ACB) has initiated an investigation against a promotee IAS officer in an embezzlement case.
The ACB has initiated a preliminary enquiry (PE) after the agency received complaints that he was involved in withdrawing Rs 55 lakh from government coffer in the name of bogus allowances.
The enquiry has been initiated barely six months before the officer who was promoted to IAS from RAS is due to retire from service.
The fact that ACB has launched an enquiry came to light when the police sent a report of vigilance clearance to the state government.
The officer denied allegations and told media persons that he had never been told about any investigation in connection with any type of embezzlement. He said allegations in this regard against him were baseless.
