ACB constable Praveen Rathore arrested in IB officer Chetan Prakash murder case

Praveen was close to Chetan Prakash’s wife Anita Meena. She told Praveen about her husband’s movements on the day of his murder on February 14, police officials said.

Jaipur: A police constable, identified as Praveen Rathore, was arrested for allegedly murdering IB officer Chetan Prakash in Jhalawar district nearly six months ago. Praveen Rathore, who was deputed as a constable with ACB in Jhalawar, was the alleged mastermind and had been on the run since his name cropped up in the murder case. Five persons including the victim’s wife have already been arrested in the case.

Praveen was close to Chetan Prakash’s wife Anita Meena. She told Praveen about her husband’s movements on the day of his murder on February 14, police officials said. It helped Praveen locate Chetan, overpower him and then inject an overdose of Ketamine that caused the IB officer’s death.

Chetan Prakash Gelana – an intelligence officer with Delhi intelligence bureau – was last seen alive when he met his parents in Ramganjmandi on February 14. He left for Jhalawar in a train after meeting the relative and then went missing. His body was later found on the roadside on Bhawanimandi Marg.

Praveen and two aides had lured Chetan Prakash to a place on some pretext and inject him with an overdose of ketamine – an anesthetic drug. The hospital employee who provided the drug to Praveen was also arrested.
