ACB arrests Manak Chowk ASI for taking Rs 25,000 bribe

Jaipur: The Jaipur team of Rajasthan Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested Assistant Sub-inspector (ASI) identified as Raghuveer Singh posted in Manak Chowk Police station after he was caught taking a bribe of Rs 25000 in Jaipur on Monday.
The accused ASI officer allegedly asked for the bribe of Rs 25,000 from the complainant – Abhishek Soni – for closing the case of assault lodged against him and his family members.
ACB officials took the accused to the agency headquarters for further investigation.
The investigation is being conducted under the supervision of Hemant Verma, who is a CI of the Special Investigation Unit.
According to the ACB officials, the ACB received a complaint from Abhishek Soni, a resident of Jaipur.
As per the complainant, the accused official Raghubeer Singh Bairwa asked a bribe amount of Rs 25,000 from him for closing the case of assault lodged against him and his family members.
After the ACB verified the complaint and found it to be genuine, a trap was laid, the agency officials said.
The ACB officials caught ASI officer Bairwa red-handed while accepting the bribe of Rs 25,000 at his office on Monday. He has been arrested and booked under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act. The officials will soon present him in the court.
