8 flights diverted to Jaipur Airport due to foggy weather

The flights originated from various cities including Chennai, Gorakhpur, and Sydney

JAIPUR: Eight flights were diverted to Jaipur Airport on Monday due to dense fog in New Delhi. The flights, which originated from various cities including Chennai, Gorakhpur, and Sydney, were forced to land in Jaipur due to operational difficulties caused by the weather conditions.

According to airport sources, the diversions took place between 6 and 7:30 PM, with flights from Air India, IndiGo, and Vistara all affected.

The rerouted flights included Air India’s AI-301 from Sydney to Delhi, IndiGo’s 6E-2316 from Chennai to Delhi, Vistara’s UK-742 from Guwahati to Delhi, IndiGo’s 6E-2086 from Gorakhpur to Delhi, Air India’s AI-768 from Kolkata to Delhi, and IndiGo’s 6E-6604 from Dibrugarh to Delhi.

Earlier in the day, IndiGo’s flight 6E-2417 from Imphal was also diverted to Jaipur, while another IndiGo flight, 6E-698 from Chennai to Delhi, faced a similar fate. Some passengers from these flights were transported to Delhi by bus, while others remained in Jaipur awaiting clearance from Delhi Air Traffic Control.
