62 traps in 70 days by Rajasthan ACB instill fear among corrupt officials
The teams arrested around 85 officials and employees on corruption charges after they were caught accepting bribe ranging from Rs 1000 to Rs 75 lakh. ACB investigated four big corruption cases in the state in three months.

Jaipur: The Rajasthan Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) teams laid a total of 62 traps in 70 days since the state assembly elections.
The teams arrested around 85 officials and employees on corruption charges after they were caught accepting bribe ranging from Rs 1000 to Rs 75 lakh. ACB investigated four major corruption cases in three months.
The number of traps in 70 days is more than the total traps in two years prior to the assembly elections.
Officials said that the increase in traps will instill fear in corrupt government officials and employees.
ACB DG Alok Tripathi constituted several teams after joining ACB as DG on July 20 last year. He was posted as ADG in ACB earlier.
The state government then transferred ADG Saurabh Srivastav and IG Dinesh MN to ACB after state assembly elections 2018.
Under the supervision of Tripathi, the ACB officials laid successful traps and caught many government officers and employees.
According to the ACB officials, the team is making every possible effort to trap corrupt officials. They added that the ACB is taking action on every complaint.
Four big traps laid by ACB in the past 40 days:
Sahiram Meena Trap
ACB unearthed movable and immovable assets worth crores of rupees from the house and other places belonging to Sahiram Meena, an additional commissioner deputed in the narcotics control bureau in Kota who was allegedly caught taking a bribe of Rs 1 lakh on January 26.
CBI inspector Prakash Chand trap
In a major trap, the ACB on March 8 arrested a middleman, identified as Shantilal, after he was caught taking a bribe of Rs 75 lakh. CBI inspector Prakash Chand on whose behalf the middleman was taking the bribe has allegedly gone missing. The bribe included a cash amount of Rs 30 lakh and a cheque of Rs 45 lakh.
AEN of JVVN Ramchand Meena trap
The Alwar team of ACB on February 7 arrested assistant engineer (AEN) of Jaipur Vidhyut Vitran Nigam (JVVN) Ramesh Chand Meena after he was allegedly caught accepting a bribe of Rs 1 lakh. Ramesh Meena was trapped at the JVVNL office in Neemrana town of Alwar district.
SSE Rakesh Kumar Meena of UPR trap
ACB on February 5 arrested senior section engineer (SSE) of Uttar Pradesh railways after he was allegedly caught taking a bribe of Rs 85,000 in Bharatpur. He was demanding the bribe to release payment to a railway contractor, ACB officials said adding that the amount was a percentage being demanded as commission.
