Jaipur: Rajasthan will see a significant administrative reshuffle from the start of the new year, with large-scale promotions across the IAS, IPS and IFS cadres. The state’s Personnel Department has issued formal orders confirming that 61 IAS, 40 IPS and 23 IFS officers will move up the hierarchy with effect from January 1, 2026.

Four IAS Officers Elevated to ACS Rank

Among the most senior promotions, Ajitabh Sharma, Alok Gupta, Dinesh Kumar, and Rajesh Kumar Yadav have been promoted to the rank of Additional Chief Secretary (ACS). With this elevation, they move from the super time scale into the chief secretary-level pay band, placing them among the top administrative leadership in the state.

Senior IPS Officers Move to ADG Level

In the police cadre, Prafull Kumar and Raghavendra Suhasa have been promoted to the rank of Additional Director General of Police (ADG). These promotions also take effect from January 1 and are part of a broader restructuring of senior police leadership.

Secretaries Promoted to Principal Secretary

Two senior IAS officers, Navin Jain and K.K. Pathak, have been elevated from Secretary to Principal Secretary. Their promotion places them in the above super time scale, strengthening the senior administrative layer across key departments.

Mid-Level IAS Promotions Across Scales

The reshuffle also includes promotions at multiple mid-level stages. Eleven IAS officers, including Jaipur Collector Jitendra Soni, have been promoted from the selection scale to the super time scale. In addition, twenty-two IAS officers have moved up from the junior scale to the selection scale, reflecting routine career progression based on service tenure and eligibility.

IPS Cadre: New IGs and DIGs

On the policing side, nine IPS officers have been promoted from DIG to IG rank, while eleven officers will assume the DIG rank from the new year. These promotions are expected to result in fresh postings and reallocation of responsibilities across police ranges and specialised units.

IFS Promotions Strengthen Forest Administration

In the forest services, twenty-three IFS officers have been promoted, with eleven of them elevated to the rank of Conservator of Forests. The move is aimed at reinforcing leadership in forest conservation, wildlife management and environmental governance across the state.

44 Police Inspectors Become RPS Officers

At the state police level, 44 police inspectors have been promoted to the Rajasthan Police Service (RPS) cadre. Orders for these promotions were issued by the Home Department. Among those promoted is Pradeep Sharma, SHO of Chomu police station in Jaipur Rural, who now enters the deputy-rank officer cadre.
