6 pollution check centers in Jaipur under investigation for not testing diesel vehicles

Jaipur: The regional transport office (RTO) has started a probe into the complaints that some pollution check centers in Jaipur are refusing to test diesel vehicles. On the basis of complaints received, the RTO recently investigated 6 such centers. One of these centers has been suspended for 3 months while 4 others have been issued show cause notices. A decision on another center is still under consideration. Once the investigation report is received, the authorities will take appropriate action.
RTO official Kalpana Agrawal stated that Shambhudayal Sharma mobile van, J Nagpal and Co., Arihant Filling and Services Center and Dharmendra mobile van have also been issued show cause notices. Meanwhile, Satish Sharma mobile van has been suspended for 3 months. Another center, Tarachand mobile van is also being investigated. Reports about centers not testing diesel vehicles had surfaced recently after which the RTO officials started investigating the issue. Whether diesel or petrol vehicles cause more pollution, has been a constant matter of debate among industry and environmental experts.
