4 people killed, 1 injured as car mows down pilgrims in Bhilwara

Jaipur: Four people including three pilgrims were killed in a tragic road accident on National Highway 27 in Bhilwara district on Thursday. The pilgrims were on their way to a temple on foot when a car mowed them down. The deceased persons included the car driver as the vehicle lost balance after the mishap and fell into a gorge.
The mishap occurred near Salavatia village around 12.30 pm. Those who died were identified as Ruksar, Safi, Bina and Mohammed Salim. Salim was driving the car, while others were pilgrims. The car drive was a miner. He was going towards Jhalawar.
According to preliminary information, the car lost balance and mowed down the pilgrims who were on foot. The three pilgrims died on the spot, while one Lila was seriously injured. Police said that though the victims were from the Muslim community, they offered prayers at a nearby temple.
Local police and administration officials including Bijolia station house officer (SHO) and tehsildar rushed to the spot and rushed the victims to a nearby hospital. The three pilgrims were from the same family. Their bodies were handed over to the family members after a postmortem examination. Police said that a probe has been launched to ascertain what caused the mishap and how the car lost balance.
