4 more test positive for Omicron variant of Covid-19 in Rajasthan

Jaipur: Four more people have tested positive for the Omicron variant of Covid-19 in Rajasthan.
The administration received the report of a couple – residents of Jawahar Nagar area in Jaipur. The report confirmed that the man and his wife were infected with Omicron. An elderly man – a resident of Pratap Nagar – tested positive for Omicron.
A woman who is a foreign national also tested positive. The woman had visited Delhi also. So far, 22 people have tested positive for this new variant in Rajasthan.
Of the 15 states where Omicron infection has been detected, Rajasthan figures at number 4 in terms of the number of cases. Maharashtra tops the list with 65 cases followed by Delhi with 57 cases. Telangana is at number 3 with 24 cases. After receiving the report of genome sequencing, the Jaipur CMHO team has shifted the Jawahar Nagar couple to RUHS.
RUHS Superintendent Dr. Ajit Singh told media persons that the husband and wife were tested positive for Covid-19 a few days ago. Both were kept in home isolation. After the report of their genome sequencing confirmed Omicron on Wednesday, both were admitted to RUHS.
Earlier in Rajasthan, 18 people were found infected with this new variant. Four are residents of Sikar, while 11 belong to Jaipur. Of this, 4 people who were found positive initially, had come from South Africa. Some people who came in contact with this family also tested positive., Omicron was also confirmed in the report of a young woman from Ukraine.
