4 members of family killed in Alwar as rains cause house to cave in

Jaipur: Four members of a family including a one-month-old boy were killed when the roof of an underconstruction house in which they were sleeping caved in. The accident that happened in NEB area of Alwar left the mother of the boy and an infant girl seriously injured. The police with the help of local residents removed debris to pull the bodies of the victim out. Three children and their father were declared brought dead at a hospital.
According to preliminary reports, the incident was caused by weak foundation of the house and incessant rains in Alwar. The foundation caved in, bringing down the under-construction house. Senior police and administration officers rushed to the spot and ordered a rescue operation. The debris was removed with an earth moving machine.
The deceased were identified as Mamura (45), his 5-year-old daughter Sabnam, 3-year-old daughter Sania and one-month-old son. His wife Haruni and daughter were seriously injured.
“Mamura and the three children were rushed to a hospital as soon as they were rescued, but it was too late. The doctors declared them brought dead. The surviving wife and daughter are undergoing treatment. Their condition is critical,” said a police officer.
The incident happened around 11 pm on Saturday. The rescue operation went on till 3 am on Sunday.
