4 killed in road accident near Nokha in Bikaner

the mishap occurred on Nokha – Nagaur Highway. All the four victims were in a car. The mishap apparently occurred due to dense fog in the mornin.

Jaipur: Four people were killed when the car they were travelling in collided with a truck on national highway (NH) – 89 near Nokha in Bikaner district on Saturday morning.

The deceased were residents of Bikaner. The car was severely damaged in the mishap. The bodies got stuck in the vehicle. The police have registered an FIR against the truck driver for rash and negligent driving.

According to the police, the mishap occurred on Nokha – Nagaur Highway. All the four victims were in a car. The mishap apparently occurred due to dense fog in the mornin. The truck driver was overspeeding also.

Locals and commuters informed the police control room after the mishap following which a team from Nokha police station rushed to the spot. Since the bodies got stuck inside the car, the police had to cut open the vehicle’s body to pull out the victims.

All the four person had died on the spot due to serious injuries and excessive bleeding. The police had to put barricades to clear the blockade.

The officials said that the bodies were sent for a post-mortem examination and an investigation has been launched to ascertain what caused the mishap. The bodies will be handed over to the family members after the post-mortem examination.

Fog had reduced visibility on the road which may have caused the accident.

Road accidents are on the rise in the state.  A child had died while 25 others were injured when their school bus overturned in Pali district on Friday.
