350 new COVID-19 cases in Rajasthan; death toll goes up to 430

Jaipur: The number of COVID-19 cases continue to swell in Rajasthan. The state reported 350 new cases on Thursday and of them, 28 were reported in Jaipur. Jodhpur reported the highest number of cases in the state. As many as 43 people tested positive for coronavirus in Jodhpur. The total number of cases have gone up to 18662. Nine people died of the infection, taking the death toll to 430.

There has been a dip in the active cases in Rajasthan. The state now has 3284 active cases. The following areas in Jaipur reported COVID-19 cases:

  • Vaiashali Nagar – 1
  • Jyoti Nagar Extension – 1
  • Bas Badanpura – 1
  • Nirman Nagar – 3
  • Jawahar Nagar – 1
  • Triveni Nagar – 1
  • Malviya Nagar – 1
  •  Jagatpura – 1
  • Chandwaji – 1
  •  Phagi – 1
  • Vidhyadhar Nagar – 1
  • Jaisinghpura – 1
  • Dhahar Ka Balaji – 1
  • Shyam Nagar – 1
  • Mansarovar – 1
  • Shahpura – 2
  • Imli Phatak – 1
  • Different quarantine centers – 6

Quarantine centers where people coming from abroad and other parts of the country are being kept continue to report COVID-19 cases. These people are being kept in isolation for 14 days and samples are being sent for testing. Many are testing positive.

Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot said that SMS Hospital played a crucial role in containing the virus and treating patients. While many other states and major cities including Delhi, Mumbai and Gujarat relied on private hospital, the government managed the crisis with SMS Hospital’s resources.
