JAIPUR: Rajasthan Housing Board (RHB) has received 33 applications from coaching institutes for the allotment of a complex in the upcoming Pratap Nagar Coaching Hub. The last date for submitting the application online has been extended to September 30.

RHB initially received a lukewarm response from the coaching institutes. Since the day the applications were invited for the allotment, only one application was received. But recently the RHB officials warned that if coaching institutes didn’t apply, they wouldn’t be offered a chance to lease the complex later.

“We have extended the last date on the request of the representatives of coaching institutes and coaching organizations. The last date for application in the second phase is now September 30,” RHB commissioner Pawan Arora said.

Arora said that in the first phase, the applications have been received from 25 coaching institutes in Jaipur, 2 each from Sri Ganganagar and Sikar and one each from Delhi, Jhunjhunu, Jodhpur and Karnal.

These coaching operators who have applied with the prescribed booking amount will be allotted the coaching complexes in the Pratap Nagar coaching hub. RHB will generate a revenue of about Rs 55 crore from the allocation of these 33 coaching complexes.

Of the 60 remaining complexes that are yet to be allotted, 30 complexes and two plots will be e-auctioned in the second phase from August 29 to 31. Earlier, out of the 90 complexes, 30 complexes and two plots were e-auctioned in the first phase in July for Rs 54.70 crore. So far, representatives of 151 coaching institutes have contacted the help desk and visited the coaching hub and the institutional properties built in it.

Apart from this, about 200 coaching institutes from different cities of the country have shown interest in the allotment of campuses through telephone, website and personal contact. In the second phase, the allotment of institutional properties to the applicants will now be done through lottery.
