Jaipur: Rajasthan reported 2173 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday. Of them, 408 were reported in Jaipur alone. The capital city has become the epicentre of the virus spread with new areas reporting fresh cases every day. While Mansarovar, Sanganer, and Malviya Nagar are the worst affected, the virus is spreading in several other areas including Gopalpura and Jagatpura at an alarming rate.
The virus claimed 15 more lives on Wednesday. The death toll has gone up to 1486 in the state. The total number of cases have also reached 135292. The number of active cases in the state now stands at 20,581.
While Jaipur is the worst affected city in the state, the COVID-19 cases are surfacing in some other cities also. Alwar reported 109 cases on Wednesday, Bikaner 139, Jodhpur 336, Udaipur 101 and Bhilwara 107. Over 31 lakh people have been tested for the virus. Of them, 135292 tested positive.
