20-year-old Jhotwara youth drowns in Pushkar Lake

Jaipur: A 20-year-old youth, identified as Hitesh Prajapat, drowned in Pushkar Lake in Ajmer district on Sunday.
The youth was a resident of Nangal Jaisa Bohra in Jhotara area of Jaipur. He went to the lake with his friends for a picnic and drowned.
The police handed over the body to family members after a postmortem examination on Monday.
Hitesh and his five friends went to Pushkar for a picnic on Sunday evening.
All the friends climbed into Gangaur Ghat to take a bath. Hitesh lost balance and fell into water.
Some priests and nearby shopkeepers tried to rescue Hitesh, but to no avail.
A team of divers was roped in by the district administration.
His body was fished out nearly an hour after he had drowned. Hitesh had died by the time his body was pulled out.
A police team also rushed to the spot and informed the family members.
“A postmortem examination was conducted in the presence of the family members. We have handed over the body,” said a police officer.
The death of Hitesh came as a shock to his friends and family members.
