Firing at a wedding in Alwar

JAIPUR: A wedding celebration turned fatal when two individuals were shot dead in Alwar. Four consecutive shots injured four people, including an 8-year-old child and a woman. The child was the nephew of the groom.

Alwar SP Tejashwi Gautam promptly arrived at the scene at midnight upon receiving the news. The police have taken two suspects into custody and are now interrogating them in connection to the case.

The CO of Kathumar circle in Alwar, Ashok Chauhan, stated that a wedding celebration was taking place in the village of Khedli police station area on Sunday. Devendra Singh, the son of farmer Rajveer Singh Rajput, was getting married and all relatives were in attendance. However, the festive atmosphere was disrupted when two members of the family participating in the wedding began firing at around 8 pm.

This resulted in the death of an 8-year-old boy identified as Dhakar from Kalwari Khedli, and Dinesh, a 33-year-old resident of Salwadi Khedli, who both died instantly. Additionally, Hansi (30) from Salbari and Prachi (10) from Khoh sustained bullet injuries.

The police informed that during the celebration, around 3 to 4 rounds of firing took place. The accused, Harsh, intended to fire in the air, but due to carelessness, the pistol was fired in front before it could be lifted. This resulted in a series of continuous shots, hitting four people in front of the chest, arm, and head.

The injured woman Hansa has three children and is part of the groom’s family. The deceased Dhakad, who was 8 years old, was the grandson of the groom’s brother-in-law. The deceased woman, Dinesh, was the sister-in-law of the groom. Prachi and Hansa, who were injured, are also related.
