2 arrested for robbery at retired judge’s house in Mansarovar

One of the accused is a mechanic who worked at a car garage in Kesar Chauraha area.

Robbery in Mansarovar: Robbers caught on CCTV.

JAIPUR: The city police has arrested two men involved in the robbery at a retired judge’s house in Mansarovar area. One of the accused is a mechanic who worked at a car garage in Kesar Chauraha area. The duo had hired a gang of robbers in Uttar Pradesh to commit the robbery. A police team has been rushed to Uttar Pradesh to nab other robbers.

The accused persons were identified as Waseem and Jiya. Both are friends. Jiya lives in Losal in Sikar, but originally hails from Meerut. Jiya knew some habitual criminals who live near his native place. These robbers included one Sajid who is yet to be nabbed Jiya arranged a phone call between Waseem and Sajid to plan the robbery.

Waseem had already been conducting a recce of houses in Mansarovar for three months. He shared his plan with Sajid who came to Jaipur with three other members of his gang on Friday morning. Waseem took them to the area where the robbery was to be conducted and dropped them. He showed them house and left. But Sajid got confused about the house where the robbery was to be conducted when he came back in the evening to commit the robbery, so the robbers entered the wrong house that belonged to Rajesh Narayan, a retired judge. The incident took place around 9 pm on Friday.

The police identified the car based on the footage of CCTVs installed in the area. The car was clearly visible. After the robbery, Sajid and his gang members took shelter at the garage where Waseem worked. Waseem told the garage owner that they were his relatives.
