2 air passengers who travelled with Coronavirus-infected girl screened in Udaipur

Jaipur: MB Hospital in Udaipur screened three people for infectious Coronavirus. Two of these three people had travelled in a flight with a girl who tested positive for the virus. The girl had come to Kerala from China where she studies in Wuhan University. This is the first case of the virus infection in the country.
After the Rajasthan medical and health department received a report about her being tested positive, two people who had come to Udaipur with her in the same flight were screened. Their blood samples were sent to the National Virology Institute in China.
Both were quarantined for a while in Udaipur and admitted to RNT Medical College Hospital for screening. Both had arrived in Kolkata from Beijing on January 23.
The remaining third man is also pursuing medical degree in China. He arrived in Mumbai from Beijing via Colombo. He arrived in Udaipur on January 28. He voluntarily reached the hospital and requested the staff that he be screened for the virus.
“We are waiting for the reports. We believe that none of these persons is infected, but we are taking all the necessary precautions,” said a hospital official.
Recently, a medical student was admitted to SMS Hospital in Jaipur for screening, but he was tested negative for Coronavirus. The hospital administration received a report from the National Institute of Virology Pune, stating that the student was not infected with the virus.
