19-year-old coaching student commits suicide in Kota

Jaipur: One more coaching student, identified as Rahul Rathore, committed suicide by hanging himself at his hostel room in Jawahar Nagar area on Thursday. This is the fifth suicide by a coaching student in Kota so far this year. The police have informed his family members and are waiting for them to arrive in Kota. A postmortem examination will be conducted in their presence.
Rahul – a native of Jaisalmer district in Rajasthan – was a medial aspirant, preparing for NEET at Allen coaching institute in Kota, according to preliminary reports. He was staying in a hostel in Talwandi area for the past six months.
Rahul was found hanging in his room on Thursday evening. A police team from Jawahar Nagar police station rushed to the spot and got the body down. It has been put in the mortuary of a hospital for a postmortem examination.
Police officials didn’t confirm if a suicide note had been found till the reports last came in. The police have launched an investigation to ascertain what drove the student to take the extreme step. The police have not ruled out the possibility that the student was depressed under pressure of studies. His father, Prabhu Lal Rathore has been informed, officials said.
On January 19, one Aniket Anand committed suicide by hanging himself.

Nearly a month ago, an 18-year-old coaching student, identified as Niharika Devangan, committed suicide by hanging herself at her hostel room in Jawahar Nagar police station area in Kota.

Niharika’s suicide came barely a week after another coaching student, a 17-year-old girl, identified as Neeraj Choudhary – a native of Haryana was found hanging from the ceiling of her hostel room.
On January 6, the body of a 16-year-old Anurag Bhartiya, a NEET aspirant who belonged to Sitamani area in Bihar was found floating in Chambal river in Kota a week after he was reported missing. Though the investigation is still underway, police officials didn’t rule out the possibility that Anurag committed suicide.
On December 7, the body of a 20-year-old coaching student, Abdulla Aziz, was found hanging from the ceiling of his hostel room in Rajeev Gandhi Nagar of Kota.
On November 20, a 17-year-old girl student, identified as Manisha Singh, hanged herself in her hostel room.
